Be Contrarian or Why I Hate Haloween.

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

I am not afraid to say I think Halloween is a horrible holiday. I hate Halloween. What is interesting is I have found a lot of people agree with my thinking and are not open to speak their mind unless to someone who shares their belief.

When speaking to our audiences, consider how what you say and how you say it can cause a reaction in your audience. Be careful with this if your new at public speaking. However, at some point, do not be afraid to be contrarian.

One of my colleagues at work, on making this declaration said the pastor of her church feels the same way and preaches it to his small congregation.

So, consider an analogy that I have used for years now.

Would it be appropriate to dress up as a Nazi costume, KKK costume for Halloween? Why not?
For the same reasons some would find this morally repulsive, I find giving honor to demons and the devil in any way, shape or form morally reprehensible. This does not mean I fault those who do it. I fault those who promote it and the religious leaders who claim to worship God but give honor to his chief enemy. Hey, our enemy too depending on your belief.

This is one holiday we can do with out and I will be glad when it is killed, put out of my misery and finally resting in my peace.

What do you think?

PS. For the sake of full disclosure, I used to go around dressed up as the Devil, of all things and went begging for candy. I do not remember my age but it was a very young age. Eeek.

Medications that Cause Erectile Dysfunction

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Here is a comprehensive list of the medications that cause erectile dysfunction.

Although it would be a waste to read off the list, this makes for an excellent hand out for the audience. The interesting thing about this topic is that it affects both men and women.

Men tend to not talk about it. You will note that the women will pay more attention when you speak on such subjects.

5 Things To Say If Caught Sleeping on the Job

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Speechmastery is about the ability to use speech in any situation. Sometimes it is about what you say and sometimes when you say it.

What you say in a speech as an aside could also be a conservation starter at the water cooler.

Here are 5 things you can say if your caught sleeping on the job.

5. I don’t know, do you think I look better in brown or blue?

4. Excuse me, I was just checking my eyelids for pinholes.

3. I was just in meditation on the company mission and vision statement and considering how I could improve my skills even more.

2. The doctors office said this might happen since they mistakenly drew too much blood.

1. In Jesus name, Amen.

Of course if you have a sleep problem, fall asleep on the job or have a hard time staying awake, there is something that might help. It has to do with boosting your glutathione. It may just help you get some sleep. There are over 69 different diseases or conditions that boosting the bodies glutathione can help with. Sleep is one. Just do a search on Glutathione, Cure, Disease….with or without quotes.

Something to Say

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Here is something you can plug into a select few speeches if you dare. Make it fit. Make sure that the audience has fun with it. Say something like, “Please do not send any photos or testimonials.”

It is about eating in the nude to lose weight.

Have fun. I sure will.
