Is this Ethical Public Speaking?

Understanding the ethics in public speaking will prevent you from ever being a topic of conversation about ethics.

Consider what Lawrence Ari Fleischer, a former communications director himself said November 2, 20009

“It is a really significant check on Barack Obamma’s first year in office. I don’t think anybody can minimize what it means to the president.”

But wait….back in November 5 2001 at the beginning of the George W Bush presidency he said….

“You have to take a look at off year elections as local elections primarily. It think there is a pretty universal view on that. Typically these type of off year elections reflect local events, local politics.”

Is this ethical?

Remember, there is a philosophy of all is fair in love and politics. Or was that love and war?

In 1578 John Lyly, a renaissance English poet and playwright, wrote in Euphues, “The rules of fair play do not apply in love and war.”

Put political views aside. Was it ethical? What do you think? Yes or No? Consider the exact words.

To help you see the shades of gray in deciding if this is ethical or not, consider …..
